Former Wisconsin Badgers WR Marcus Randle El Found Guilty of Two Counts of First Degree Intentional Homicide
Former Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Marcus Randle El is facing two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the February 2020 shooting deaths of 27-year-old Brittany McAdory and 30-year-old Seairaha Winchester.[0] Prosecutors allege that Randle El shot Winchester and McAdory because he believed Winchester was providing information to the police about his drug dealing.[1]
Randle El’s trial began on January 19, 2023 and is expected to conclude next week. On Tuesday, the jury found Randle El guilty on all four counts he was facing, including two counts of first degree intentional homicide, operating a vehicle without consent, and possession of a firearm by an out-of-state felon.[2]
In testimony during cross examination, Williams conceded no murder weapon's been found and there were no witnesses to the killings.[3] Williams concurred that Randal El's DNA was not present at the location of the offense.[4] However, Detective Steven Williams said there was still evidence to ultimately charge Randle El with the crime.[5]
Subsequently, the lawyers of Randle El declared that their client would not testify in the trial.[6] On Tuesday, Randle El used his right to plead the 5th amendment and did not testify.[7] Medical examiner Vincent Tranchida testified that both victims died of gunshot wounds, suggesting a .40 caliber pistol as the weapon.[8] On Friday, one of the victims' mother took the witness stand.[9]
Randle El was a wide receiver for Wisconsin more than a decade ago and his brother, Antwaan Randle El was a stand-out NFL player and is an assistant coach with the Detroit Lions.[10]
