Actor & Musician Cody Longo Passes Away at 34

Cody Longo, an actor and musician known for his roles on Days of Our Lives, Hollywood Heights, Nashville and more, has sadly passed away at the age of 34.[0]

TMZ broke the news on Friday that he had been found dead in bed at a home in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, February 8th.[1] Longo's wife, Stephanie Nicole Clark, who was working at a local dance studio, had alerted the authorities after being unable to reach him.[2]

No definitive cause of death has been established, however, a relative of Longo, as stated in the report, believes that he may have succumbed to a relapse of alcoholism. Longo had reportedly gone to rehab over the summer to battle his addiction.

Longo’s wife, Stephanie, expressed her heartbreak in a statement provided by his former representative Alex Gittelson. “Cody was our whole world,” she said.[3] We children are utterly heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief. Our dad was the most amazing and loving father anyone could have wished for. We will never forget you and will always cherish the love you gave us.[4]

Gittelson also shared his own grief in a tweet, calling Longo a “dear friend” and “client.” “Devastated beyond words at the tragic loss of my dear friend and client, Cody Longo. My heart breaks for his beautiful family. You will be missed, brother.”[5]

Longo was born in Littleton, Colorado in 1988 and studied psychology and film at the University of California, Los Angeles.[6] He had a successful acting career, appearing in several TV shows as well as the 2009 film Bring It On: Fight to The Finish.[7] His longest running role was as Eddie Duran in Hollywood Heights.[8]

Longo was also a singer and songwriter, with his song “She Said” charting on Billboard in 2014.[9] He was in production on David Moreton’s upcoming feature Do You Want to Die in Indio?[10] prior to his death.[9]

Mr. Longo's widow and their three children survive him. Fans and friends of the actor are mourning his passing and remembering him for his talent, loyalty and love.
