Two Gang Members Arrested in Connection with Goshen Massacre

Six people were shot dead in a massacre in Goshen, California last month, including a grandmother, a teenage mother, and her infant son. On Friday, Feb. 4, authorities announced the arrests of two gang members, Noah David Beard, 25, of Visalia, and Angel Uriarte, 35, of Goshen, in connection with the mass shooting.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance footage from the night of the shooting. It shows 16-year-old Alissa Parraz trying to flee with her 10-month-old baby, Nycholas, before placing the baby on top of a refuse bin in the neighboring yard and climbing over a gate.[0] Moments after, the shooters could be seen chasing them, drawing out their guns.[1]

At the time of the shooting, a woman called 911, saying “They shot my boyfriend. They keep shooting outside. I don’t know if they are still here. I’m scared…Hurry please. They’re coming back. They’re coming back in!”[0]

Beard was arrested without incident, while Uriarte engaged in a gun battle with federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Uriarte was wounded in the shootout and taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition.[2]

Uriarte is known to have a long-standing hatred of the Parraz family, according to records from his 2014 case.[3] Uriarte and Beard have been charged with six counts of murder and other felonies, including multiple murders and committing murders to further the activities of a criminal street gang.[4] They may face the death penalty if convicted.[5]

The investigation is still ongoing.[6] The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is requesting anyone with information to phone them at 559-733-6218.[6]
